I don't know what's going on with our old sponsor, shopsuntec.com, but no one has been able to reach them for some time now, including me. Where they've gone, what the problem is, whether they are still in business... it's all a mystery.

If you've been having a problem with your order/product, you'll probably need to contact your credit card company to get a refund.

We would advise against buying anything from the SHOPsuntec.com website at this time.

This is all the info I can find about them, for those of you who didn't pay by credit card...

Today I sent Suntec an email requesting instructions on how to return for refund the I5 2GB player they sold me in April. Cowan has now acknowledged that these units have design defects (although 2GB memory in theory, actual capacity is limited to 450 files+folders, or about the capacity of the I5 1GB model which is about half the price... Cowan indicates that retailers will waive return policies in light of the acknowledged design defect (a defect that Cowan is working to resolve but so far no known solutions.) Given the apparent demise of SunTec, I'm guessing I'm stuck with an expensive 2GB I5 that provides no advantage over the 1GB model. (Glad I ordered my wife's unit from PCMALL ...)

AND one more note: SunTec did not send a copy of the invoice or a receipt wen they shipped my I5 to me in April, which may make it impossible to take advantage of the Cowon warranty. (I do have my VISA statement showing the debit from SUnTEc, so maybe that will work if needed.)

Kajok: all major credit cards provide fraud protection and usually some protection against getting defective products or no product at all, if you can't resolve it through the company. I've had to do this a few times with Visa and MasterCard, no problem...

And Kajok: stop spamming the forum. You have put the exact same comment in multiple threads. We get the point, it's been said.

I placed an order on May 17, 2005 and they were very quick to debit my card and then send an e-mail about processing the order and being sent by 1-3 day priority mail. I tried numerous times to contact them, but to no avail. Finally, I got an e-mail message yesterday that "everyone was out of the country" until today. That has to be the biggest bunch of bull I've ever heard. They swindled everyone who recently paid money for any player. They may have had good service in the past, but now they are just plain crooks. I can'y believe their website is still up accepting new orders when I'm sure there is no intention of sending out any of them. Their BBB logo is also false; I could not find them listed in the rgistry at the BBB site. I hope everyone who placed orders will get their moneyback from their credit card or Suntec.

sorry about your situation cbutton... as long as you paid by credit card then getting a refund should be easy, through the CC company.
