General Talk about Rockbox progress....

It seems to be coming along nicely, from rockbox forums 24 March....

If you're stuck with "Bad Checksum" or "File Not Found" errors in the bootloader, copy a few files to the D2 (anything will do, bigger is better), boot the OF a few times, and try again. I'll post an updated ATA/NAND driver later this week that should resolve some of these issues.

Finally, if you're not confident building from source yourself, the port probably isn't mature enough to be of much interest yet. There are no binary downloads available at this point.

Nice, I'm eagerly anticipating Rockbox. I've had nothing but good experiences with it so far (iRiver H340).

newb alert:

what does the Rockbox offering me that the orginal Fw dont?
cen i instal App that i've didnot ben aible so far (.exe)?
what are the benefet from instaling the program?
does it finaly give me the opatunaty to vew .pdf .doc .pss file?

Niiiiiiice! I was trying to check the status of the build over the weekend but I think the RB boards were down as I could not get though to them for love nor money...

isn't the EyeFi Card that Card ONLY used for transferring Files wireless through a network say transferring pictures, Etc? that Card isn't meant for Internet just to let you know.

You can improve ID browsing or just turn it off, fix tags for OGG and FLAC, make browsing easier so you don't have to click so much, fix small but annoying bugs cowon hasn't fixed, etc

I just merged two similar rockbox threads, if a sequence of posts above this one makes no sense then that is the reason why.

A lot of people have been talking about the eyefi card as if it has the potential to open up the cowon d2 as a networkable device, from what I understand the card operates independently, separate from the device, simply sending files that are created on the internal memory.

The rockbox port has really been moving, its great to see, The potential that a open programmable alternative to the standard firmware has on the d2 in particular and in a community such as this is awesome. I can't wait to see the progress as it develops.

Thanks to everyone involved for your efforts on the rockbox port, keep up the good work!
