Default can you edit tags on D2 internal memory while it is plugged into PC?

i noticed i had some duplicate artists, so i plugged my D2 into the PC and used both tag&rename and mediamonkey to fix up the artist names that were slightly wrong.
however when i disconnected and turned on the D2 the names were not fixed, but when viewing the exact same files from the D2 internal memory, while plugged into the PC as an external drive the names/tags are 100% correct...

so the D2 is lying to me, i've tried 3 times and it won't display my edited tags correctly. i have a feeling my only option is to wipe all the data and start again???

help!

I wonder if because the physical files arn't changing just the tags that perhaps the database is not being updated. Try adding\subtracting a few files .

I believe I tried this with both Tag&Rename and trough Winamp. It worked for me...

However... I think I also added some files/folders. I think madman is right.. it should work as long as something is added/deleted.

i added an album to the internal memory, didn't fix it.
then moved the problem folders onto the PC and deleted them from the internal memory, then copied them back over.
it worked!

it also fixed the other problem i was having with an album called Z showing up as Unknown.
cheers fellas.
