This is an example of a good, constructive post as opposed to the one about negative impressions.
Though I found the other thread rather amusing. Well done Mint. Great Job. See what the internet can do if we all just work together! |

VirtualDub is an open source project so there are many different versions of it. VirtualDubMod has mp3 support and other features not found in the original program.

Okay everything went fine up to choosing the mpeg layer 3 settings.. For me there is no 128kbps 44.1khz The highest it goes up to was like 55kbps and 22khz. I went through all the steps and double checked very good, still no go. So i re-did it all, still nothing. I decided to just choose the best and see what would happen. I dont have my X5 yet, but it came out all right except for the sound was lagging behind the video about 1-2 seconds. Any suggestions? Maybe it was just the dvd i ripped? Im going to try again tommorow with my LOTR dvd, and see how that turns out.

Also I just realized that movies in cinemascope aspect ratio (ie. LOTR) will be way too tiny on the X5. I'm going to see if I can convert it to a 16:9 ratio in virtualdub. Now to find a dvd in cinemascope.

Surely it supports cropping? Which can't be avoided for a screen this size.

I doubt it's a bug and more a limitation of the design.

Could you guys check to see if your avi file created with VFAPI matches lengths with the wav file extracted with dvd2avi? Just open each file with Windows Media Player and look at the total length of the file. They both should match.

Yep. Both are exactly same length of time.

If I leave the fps at default 29.9 the audio is matched up with the video.
