You can always get what information there is available about firmware updates under 'News' on this site.

You'll also find a downlod link there.

OK, thats great, but there's little info on exactly all the bug fixes.
So..unless there is a list of Bugs in a thread and anyone can comment on their firmware update experience on a USA retail iAudio X5 I'd apreciate it. As I'm still awaiting for mine to ship from Newegg this week. Its still at Step 3 process, which has cleared for charging to my CC. Thanks.

hey,
can you tell me how to update my x5.
I've downloaded the program, and unzipped it to my x5 in the folder updates, but when I start the x5 I still see in the right corner; version 1.01 orso.
thanks in advance

Oh man, and you have the USA retail version of the iAudio X5?
Anywayz, from the supplied pdf manual that a nice forum member put up to download, the manual says:
1. Connect the device to the PC using a USB cable. (Refer to 7. Connecting to a PC Before Using).
2. Download the recent firmware file from the “Download” menu from our homepage at www.iAUDIO.com.
3. Unzip the downloaded file and copy the file to the firmware folder in the iAUDIO X5.
4. Unplug the device from the PC and connect the AC adapter.
5. The power comes on when the adapter is connected, and the firmware automatically upgrades.
6. When the firmware upgrade is complete, it changes to the program running screen, and from
the first screen you can confirm the firmware version.
Firmware is a built-in hardware program, and it can improve the product’s functions or debug it through
an upgrade. The functions and the menu are subject to change without warning through firmware upgrades,
and some beta version firmware can have minor errors in their operation which will be corrected in the
final version.
2. Upgrading the Firmware
※Do not unplug the adapter or turn off the power before the firmware upgrade is complete.
※Make a backup file on your PC since the saved data in the memory can be deleted when upgrading firmware.

Transfer the unzipped .bin you have downloaded into the Firmware folder;
use the Safety Remove Procedure to unplug the device from the pc;
connect the AC adapter and you'll see that the power comes on and the firmware automatically upgrades;
when the firmware upgrade is complete, u will see the program running screen and from the first screen u can confirm the the firmware version!!!
It's all written in the X5 Guide!!! :-)

sorry, did not read that part(to busy with converting cd's and family guy etc.), I also hate those people who ask a question that's already been answered, now I'm one of them . but thanks.

I hope they've managed to fit some improved USB-OTG compatability into this latest firmware. I'd feel better about spending $800 on this fooker if I didn't have to spend another $100 on a 1GB CF card for my camera.

Is there anyone with an X5 and a canon digital camera out there? Have you tested it with the latest firmware? I'd like to see at least 1 green line under canon heading in the damn USB-OTG compatibility list.

Ever heard of Card Readers??? Instead of freaking out for nothing, there's always an option to find out how things work.

And why would I buy one of those if the latest firmware 2.07 works with my camera?
