Hi all,
I need an mp3 player/recorder for recording of classical music performances for later analysis. I could not get information from Cowon on the subject of whether the tiny voice microphone in their units is stereo? if not, is it possible to connect an external stereo microphone through the audio in port? some of them need power from the device, and I don't know whether the Iaudio players have enough juice to support them (some mics have their own battery, but others dont). http://www.onecall.com/PID_12920.htm http://www.minidisco.com/ecm-ms907.html secondly, my local computer store only has the 512mb G3 and refuse (!) to order the larger 1GB/2GB versions, can the flash chips be bought separately? thanks |

The built in mic records the same input in both channels.
It is claimed that external mic with built in amplifying circuitry do work but I am yet to see one that really works well but does not cost the same as the unit. If anyone knows of one please put a post as I am also interested in an external mic that does not cost the world but is effective. No, you cannot add your own chips. You should have no problems ordering this on the internet. I bought mine on the internet too. |

I'm very tempted to purchas this mic (with internal preamp) and try it with my U2:
http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cg...m/SP-BOOSTER-1 I don't know anyone that has it, but it looks like a great price. Actually, another online vender, minidisco, sells this mic for $80, but they are currently out of stock. |
