Did you follow these instructions:

http://www.cowonglobal.com/zeroboard...bmenu=download

If so which step did you have problems with?

I am having a hard time trying to read between the lines of what you posted.

Did you install the contents of all three folders in the correct order?

Press the reset (the small hole under the USB connector cover), before connecting your D2. This will make sure the D2 is Truly Off.

Your D2 should not show up as new hardware, unless of course you "Bricked It!"

hmm.. this sounds pretty weird..! I've never experienced something like that before! I'm trying to figure out what happened, but I can't come up with anything... Anyway, congratulate with your new Cowon D2, I'm sure you'll fix it!!

EDIT: If you try to install the firmwire again. I'm sure that you can't destroy your D2 just by installing a new firmwire!!

Have you unzipped the file, placed it in the right way?

If you get it right, I recomend you to search "wallpaper", "start up logo" and "finished themes". You'll get great updates there, without loosing your D2!

BTW, welcome to this forum!!

the third file has the theme and interface on it. If you don't put that on there, you're going to see nothing.

It's likely you didn't go through all 3 upgrades to get to the full v2.51. Connect it to your PC and see if you possibly dropped a folder in there rather than the 0, 1, or 2 files.

When you transfered the last (2) upgrade files to the D2, did you transfer both of them? The 0 & 1 upgrades each only had 1 file, but 2 has 2 files.

I beg to differ. I bricked my first D2 upgrading firmware. Not gonna fiddle with it at all now, it can stay with 2.50, I'd rather have a D2 I can actually use than the "latest and greatest".

I went from 2.4.1 to 2.4.6 fine, but when I tried to install 2.5.0 it bricked it. What happened to me sounds very similar to what's described in this thread here.

I RMA'd mine. Newegg rocks.

Try connecting it to another pc. Worked for me when it did the same with 2.50.
Good luck.
