Default Headphone input defective?

HI,

Just received a new D2 (155.00 4gb - NEW not refurbished) and it takes hardly any pulling at all for the headphone input to come out. There's no nice click when inserted or even a nice fit feeling. If it's pushed in a little hard then there's no sound at all, and it seem like it's not in enough. Visually it's not in all the way. I've tried three headphone jacks.

What's your headphone jack/input like? Is it a tight fit? Can it get pulled out real easily?

Thanks,

bummed . . .

Is the headphone connector really pushed in all the way? When I recieved my unit the fit was so tight that I was afraid to break it if I pushed the connector in all the way.

Default Push Baby Push

Yeh, when I push it in all the way, NO sound then! None . . . ugh. Ans I was bragging I got it for 155. Anyway I sent it back for an exchange. And I was just warming up to it.

Thx

You shouldn't be able to see the metal part of the plug at all

Default update

This is very strange. After the problems yesterday, I put the D2 back in its box. Their online tech support told me first to test some other headphones, and this morning I found some. The new headphone plug slide in perfectly, and now I've tested the included earbuds that originally gave me problems, and they also work. Note that I haven't touched the player since last night, when it felt like I had to force the plug into the jack.

What kind of explanation could there be?
