I'm on 2.46 and the file limit still seems to be 5,000.

Well i like to keep all my music files on my sd card. There is nothing on internal and I have no video or picture files. I tried to copy up to 1100 song on to the sd card, total of 100 folders. The problem doesnt occur of I wipe out my sd card and completely fill up internal memory with music. So the problem might be the actual sd card right?

Yeah that sounds about correct.
Have a go at formatting your SD card (fat32) and then re-adding the music. Are you on a PC or mac? What SD card are you using - Brand, capacity, class?

I had the same issue.
In fact on v2.50 it still is 500folders/5000 files. My Cowon D2 came with 2.50 preinstalled and the usermanual told me 5000. I have to say that problems arrose when I had +1000 files in total on my device. Almost like the more files I add, the more problems. Never had any issues on the internal 4GB, but if I add a SD card with more musicfiles, my version 3,50b gives me trouble (bugs). |

The user manuals for Cowon devices are typically wrong, and even if they start off right they don't get updated when the firmware changes. The obly way to determine what the limit really is, is to attempt to exceed it .. the 'x / y' track display will never have a y bigger than the maximum track limit.
Finding the folder limit(s) is a big harder, and when you exceed the folder limit some very strange things can happen.
