Oh joy, another low-capacity flash player...

Sorry, I'm still waiting for my X7.

WWW.What_da_f***.com COWON? Why? Ok...Ok....lets all calm down here. Maybe this will replace the other 26 flash players. So...as exspected no X5 announced this year. At least for now.

wwwWHAT? thats a U5!? they actually continued the U series!?

however was saying that they were, is probably laughing at me now... the problem? that looks nothing like the U seires.

I fear the same is gonna happen to the X series if it dares to show its face to the public

looks kinda out of place, considering the other Cowon designs. Maybe its ment to be a ipod nano competitor. Guess that put the rumoured 'X7' back another few months or years. I doubt it will follow the quality of the U series, those of which where awesome players and SMALL.

"Oh, did anyone see that other amazing device that was featured on the Cowon booth?

Naa thought not!"

WTF? Another flash based player… only this time without an announcement of 16GB capacity to come & “multi”-codec = MP3 & WMA… where’s FLAC, OGG, & WAV!?
Granted… it does look cool. IMO, it follows the lines of the ipod mini.
But come on now Cowon… where’s the flippin’ X7??? Stop toying with us!

What the !?

Ah ah ah Cowon goes mainstream, and doing that abandons Flac and ogg and all that did make it build brilliant players.

BTW, generationmp3 announces that they will be at Cowon's on Monday (I am assuming their european HQ) and that they will provide an update on the complete product line. They will certainly ask about the X5 sucessor.

umm... i can actually see why Cowon probably ditched Ogg and Flac. my guessing is because of all the tag issues and crap a lot of users have complained about over the last two years or so. the design of the U5 looks cheap and low build quality. no video support "yay Cowon! you've finally gotten rid of this feature for your small DAPs". at least they didn't take out the BBE and what not. the battery life is very... very disappointing. 20hrs? they could at least take it up to 30hrs at least.

hold up, lets not trash the player yet. Ok maybe we can with the design, but not the spec. i dont think we have seen the full specification of the device just yet. Im 100% sure its not only going to support mp3 and wma.

Reminds me of some cheap knock-off chinese mp3 player though.
