I recently got a D2 and tried to use the AC charger for the first time last week. It doesn't seem to work, however. I tried plugging it into different outlets just in case the one I was using was bad, but it still didn't charge (the battery is dead and if I turn it on it shuts off again after a second with the low battery warning). Has anyone else had problems with their charger? I looked in the manual to see if there was anything I might be doing wrong, but didn't spot anything.

I presume the plug attachment if firmly seated on the AC charger? I know mine took a fair amount of pressure to seat properly... if you can't engage the locking switch then it's not making contact with the adaptor's terminals.

Yea, I've got the lock in place so it's firmly attached.

If your battery is fully discharged (not a good habit to get into BTW) it may take anywhere up to an hour for it to show any signs of charging at all.
Have you tried a short press on the power switch while the charger is plugged in? It's possible that the screen isn't coming up to tell you the unit is charging.
