Tavi vs A2/3

I have an A2, but the screen broke so now I am looking to get something else. I am currently thinking about either getting the A3 or the Tavi 030 series device. Now what I want to know is based on the A2 and what we know of the A3 which is a better device in terms of sound, video, and durability(portability goes under this too). I like to record lectures in class and the A2 was pretty good at that. My understanding is the Tavi does it but non of the reviews I saw(it was of the earlier 020) had sample or a review of that feature as it was going to come out in the next firmware. I know that Cowon has a good support base(fans), but how is Tavi base. I understand the 030 is open source also like that A2/A3 so does that mean custom hacks and such like the A2/A3 or do we not know?
