So basically after searching around for a flash based expandable DAP I have been led to the Cowon D2, it seems very promising and I will most likely buy it soon. But before I do so I have some questions I would like to ask.
1. Any news on an 8gb D2 and what price? 2. Does it fit inside a pant pocket easily? 3. Is it heavier or lighter than a 30gb iPod. 4. Is the FM radio reception good? If I can just about get straight answers to these questions I may just buy a D2 tomorrow (Unless 8gb soon). Thanks in advance ![]() |

yes, I have no problems with that. 3. Is it heavier or lighter than a 30gb iPod. with a little internet research: ipod 30 gig = 167g D2 = 91g

ya, what about that polish 8gb preorder site...personally, im fine with me 4gb D2 and my 8gb SDHC card...but if you really really REALLY need that extra 4 gb, id suggest waiting as it looks like it might happen....
for a price. and if video isnt that important, have a look at the iaudio7 as they should be releasing a 16gb version later this year. |

I'm fine with 8gb total by adding an SD card.

Final question, does the D2 come with a screen protector and is it sufficient?

it comes with one, but i didnt like it much at all. i bought one of the antiglare, boxwave screen protectors and i am quite happy with it. it really does a lot to stop finger prints which is really awesome and the antiglare isnt that amazing, but its better than the one that the D2 comes with. i would recommend them. you can get 3 for the price of 2 right now(or at least, a few days ago you could...im sure that deal still stands).

In addition to silint's helpful review and recommendation for BoxWave anti-glare protectors, you might consider these related threads from the accessories sub-forum:

1- My Estimation on the price:
D2 2GB arround $150, and 4GB arround $180. I think 8Gb will be around $240. 2-3- Everything everyone else said, appart from the FM: 4- The FM radio doesn't use the EQ yet (so just plain line signal); but maybe a future Firmware ugrade will change that..(maybe)... And, in areas with less reception, the D2's stereo will not function that well; it'll be better to put it on mono signal then. The radio has 24 presets, and is a good radio (better then my Sony Ericsson V600i cellphone's radio reception). |
