The great thing about the M3 is that you can simply mount the device as HD,
copy your sound in a folder, unmount and you're ready to go. The player updates its song database by itsself -> No problems in Linux -> Copy the sound of all your friends pc's (Unlike the ipod, which can only be used at one home pc/mac and requires communication software)

Will the X5 adopt this great feature?

Based on a few English words on the Korean webpage and a crappy autotranslation, yes. It does look like you might need Windows in order to do firmware upgrades, but I think it claims to support file-transfer under MacOS and Linux.
