Hi
Let me start off by asking a few questions and a statement.. ![]() I have never owned a personal mp3 player, and I'm getting one for my b-day in May, so I hope you can provide me the 'finishing touches' per say on my decision! I initially wanted to go with the Sony NWHD1, but after research discovered how limited it was (albeit great sounding and cool looking), and how "crap" the software was. I then progressed to the 20GB version that Iriver has, and well, here I am now. I loved the features that the IAudio has, and don't overly need a screen on the unit.. I just want to make sure of a few things.. 1) can it be used as a portable HD ? 2)do you need to convert your files to any other format (I'll be using mp3s mostly) ? 3) can you remove the files (I mean put them back on your PC once you want them off your unit) ? 4)is the software complicated? 5)sound quality is nice? I'm really looking for a player with durability, fewer 'glitches' than what seem to be around with other players.. ie- hardware failures (switches/hd/screen ect) and a fairly easy to comprehend and sort through software package that won't take me years to understand and/or get files playing on it. The selling points were the FM radio and the ability to record voice ect, plus it's cool style and 'remote'. I don't want to have to keep taking the player out of my pocket to change songs ect, so this works for me. Can anyone (being honest) tell me why this might not be a great choice for me.. figure you all have them, or had, so you'd be the folks to ask. LASTLY, is the darn thing available ANYWHERE in Canada? I can't seem to find anyone near me that sells them.. just Ipods/Iriver/Creative and whatnot. Thanks for any info you may give, and bare with me.. being a rookie player purchaser! I just don't want to shell out a ton of dough and be dissapointed/lost with the unit. Cheers! |

1) yes
2) M3 supports mp3, wma, wav, ogg (that i know for sure) 3) yes 4) not at all (in fact u don't even have to install it to put files on ur m3) 5) subjective but yes ![]() my only gripe with m3 is that the memory buffer is not as large as some other players.. try suntec, ebay, jetaudio etc.. prepare to pay customs ![]()
