Default Shops selling D2 in the USA?

Hi there!
I'm still waiting to get a D2 but it looks like the price for it will be moreorless high here in europe. I'm German and I don't want to pay as much.
So i wondered if it might be easy to buy the D2 in a shop in the USA. I mean real shops and no internetshops. (Jeez, my english sucks...hope everyone understood this )
I have some folks travelling to the USA next month and I hope they can buy me one. But I have to give them as much information as possible.
So: Are the any "famous" shops which offer the D2 for sure. Such as Malls etc. you can find in different cities.
Hope somebody understood this . Thanks in advance for any information

That's a great idea; stuff is much cheaper in the USA when you factor in the exchange rate with the Euro and the lack of VAT. However, availability of the D2 seems to suck at the moment. I looked on the Best Buy website--which is the best-known retail (physical) electronics store in the US with the widest range of items--and they don't carry it. Circuit City, Fry's, and CompUSA--some of the other biggest electronics stores, also don't apparently. Online, NewEgg.com has it for $170 and JetMall for $190, but both are out of stock.

If these folks you know are going to be visiting friends in the US, and if prior to their trip, one of the online shops magically gets some D2s in stock again, then I'd say your best bet is to order it online and have it sent to the American friends. Or check out eBay.com--I just looked and they have exactly one "Cowon D2" 2GB available for $202 (Buy it Now) plus $14 shipping to the US or $49 worldwide (although you probably shouldn't order stuff to be shipped from America to Europe--see my comment below). Otherwise, you're probably out of luck. Still, at least you know the names of some stores to check in.

Ordering something to be sent from America to Europe is not the greatest idea, because you'll probably get charged VAT when it gets to Sweden, and the item may get held up at the toll station on top of that. It's not worth the effort, IMHO, and you may even end up paying more money than you would if you bought it in Europe.

Instead, may I suggest you check this out:

8GB SDHC from Germany, for 54 EUR! I doubt you can beat that even by American standards.

Thanks man!

I will try that store.
Is the speed on that card enough to play everything on the D2? 18 MB readspeed and 3,5 MB writespeed?

Do you know if there is a cardreader, that will work with that card, on that site?

When will 8gb cards work on the D2? Read something about firmware 2.30 on this forum, but when will that firmware be released? Planning on byuing two 8gb cards from that store as soon I know they will work on the D2.
