This thread came in handy, as I had to re-do settings after installing fw 2.41b.

If you have V-Moda Bass Freq earbuds then these are just about THE perfect settings! (I've been working at it for days)
EQ: 6-3-8-5-11 BBE: 6 M3B: 4 3DS: 6 STE: 2 MPE: ON Thank me later! Note: When not using good quality earbuds (like when you want to hear your surroundings), create a new jeteffect preset with a readjusted EQ and MPE turned off to save battery life; because on low quality earbuds you won't notice anyway. I got the V-Moda Vibes,
EQ: -3 : -6 : -12 : -6 : 0 BBE: 7 M3B: 5 3DS: 1 STE: 2 MP: On Try lowering the EQ, you'll need a higher volume but the sound should be better

No problems here man. I love the sound (I have been tweaking it for days). That's why I recommended it! Besides, from what I hear the Vibes don't sound the same. My settings are perfect for the Bass Freqs.

Today, I'm on:
4 2 0 2 4 bbe 1 mp enhance on everything else off Adds a bit of punch which is otherwise missing from having everything flat or off. Shure E4g headphones.

EQ
-8 -8 -8 -8 -8 volume +28 I found that it sounds better than the "normal" EQ and volume +15. Can anybody check it also?

I'm currently on -12 across all bands. It does sound better than normal - more clarity.

That's really wild. Normally, when you adjust an EQ band, it doesn't perfectly span to the next band. You should have peaks, or I guess humps in your case, at every EQ centerband as far as frequency response is concerned.
Interesting... |

My EQ settings are 8 4 1 -2 -3. All of the BBE effects destroy the S\NR, so I leave them off, except for stereo enhance, which is at 2. My headphones are Sony MDR 7509s, which are lean on the bottom and bright on top, which is why the EQ drops off like a cliff.
While I do think the D2 sounds better overall than my old iRiver iFP-999, said iRiver had an EQ band at 50hz, which is much more useful than the D2's minimum of 80hz. Note to Cowon: 80hz aint bass. My subwoofers go down to 15hz. I listen to pure f----- metal, in fact I've got Arch Enemy on right this minute. |
