Default Using an A2 with a Mac (os 10.3.9)

I'm interested in buying one due to the OTG USB host function, the line in recording and the big screen, however, I'm interested in responses from others who have experience with the A2 with a Mac. Please, no Mac vs. PC arguments. I also have a Dell in the house, and it's just coincidence that it isn't working at this moment.

I imagine that if I convert the non-protected files in my iTunes library to Mp3 files, I can transfer them to the A2. Ripping DVDs should be trickier, but I imagine there is a way. I'm interested in using the A2 to transfer data across different operating systems.

I would probably go with the A3 instead. The A2's USB Host is USB 1.1 and is very very slow. The A3 has 2.0 host and is more efficient than the A2.

As the A2/3 is a UMS device it should work with Mac OS

Weelll, my ancient and aged slot loading iMac only has USB 1.1, so that might not be as big an issue. But I suppose once the Dell recovers from the software failure, USB 2.0 would be nice. And the A3 has a super cool black and blue color - when is the A3 intro?

Well the otg speed would not matter if he is just useing the A2 as a portable harddrive. The transfer speed is usb 2.0 when connected to a computer. The OTG speed is usb 1.1 when you are transfering files from say, a camera, or another mp3 player, or usb memory stick.

thanks backlash - One of the reasons that Cowan products have caught my attention is the possible use of the A2 to transfer files from Macs to PCs and back. I'm also interested in the line-in recording ability - if you use a preamp, you could use the A2 as a quick and easy audio recorder of informal live concerts by your musically inclined friends. You could take the recordings, import them to GarageBand and clean them up - you get the picture. Same thing with video files. I have heard that the A2 is not all that hot with video recorded from a television and that the A3 corrects that problem. What other features does the A3 have that the A2 doesn't (other than the neat black and blue color?

I'd say it's fast enough and the fact that you it works just fine across different OS is a plus .
