Hi,
I have always wanted to learn programming stuff for Rockbox and an idea had hit me. Wouldn't it be good if there was an option on Rockbox on the iAudio X5 where I could use the mp3 player as a digital sampler and audio workstation like the options on Steinberg Wavelab or Sony SoundForge. Options like the ability to record sounds onto the iAudio X5 and tweek them with effects, timestretch them, loop them and even have the ability to play back on a USB piano keyboard connected to the iAudio X5 would be fantastic. Anyone else like that idea? Artmuzz |

Evrybody has ideas, but frankly conencting to a USB keyboard is not a priority for most people and would be way too hard to implement. If you've got the skills, then try. There's not even basic USBOTG support in Rockbox.

OK, take away the USB keyboard option and just have the audio editing capabilities like reverb chorus etc and time stretching and looping. Is it still possible?

Possible? Yes. Likely? No, unless you are able to develop it yourself.
If you know C and are interested in implementing your idea, the best bet would be to write it as a plugin. See: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/vie...toWritePlugins The primary obstacles IMO (at least to begin with) will be limited controls, small screen size and slow processor. Since every device has a different number and type of buttons/controls and screen resolution, you'll need to code your plugin keeping this in mind. |
