Default Gap between songs?

I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of the annoying gap between songs on my G3. What I mean by gap is that some songs are meant to flow together, with no silence between the songs. But when played on my G3, I hear a short gap, like maybe 1/4 second, between the songs. I use mp3's ripped using Exact Audio Copy and LAME. When I play the songs on my computer using Winamp, there is no gap, so I know it's not the files themselves. Any ideas?

The most effective way (and possibly the only one) to eliminate the gaps would be to either rip the CD as one continuous track or combine the MP3 tracks post-rip.

I suppose you configured the G3 correctly, i.e., Menu->General->Skip Length->Track, so this is not a mere setup mistake.

Right?

Yes, the skip length is set to zero.

Doniago, can you recommend any software that I can use to combine mp3s? I only need to use it on a few tracks, probably less than 10. Thanks.

I think most rippers have a 'rip as one track' option...for post-rip combining, I'd say just try a websearch, see what you find. Never done it myself.

AFAIK no Cowon players offer true gapless playback...at least not without Rockbox.

Wow, I was here in 9/06...how the time flies...
