AFAIK Syncback won't create db files anywhere, so it should avoid the "litter" issue.
I'm not really into MM for general sync'ing purposes, but I have come to appreciate its ability to sync a playlist (and the associated files). Makes copying music to my A2, where I want only certain files, quite speedy.

So there IS a way to sync a playlist along with its respective files; cool. I'm still trying to figure out MM, so this is good to know |

If I import the same song in multiple playlists, that song's on the iAudio only once tho' right??
I'm really excited about the versatility of this!! Now if I can just find a way to use MM to import my latest EAC rips automatically, I'm in!! |

Yes, it only copies it over once. First thing it does is build a list of files to be sync'd by comparing what's already on the player and what is selected for synchronization. You can choose not only to sync playlists, but also can choose specific artists, albums or by folder location.
After ripping CDs, I usually touch up the tags & filenames in Media Tagger and then integrate them into my collection and kick off a scan on that folder to add it to MM. However, if you purchase the gold version, it will automatically update the database when you add new files into the watched folders. It's only 20 bucks, but I still haven't bought it. Automatic folder scanning is one of the few features that is not available for free.

I'm enjoying learning more about MM. I've figured out how to keep my folder structure intact on my X5 identical to my hard drive, and I use the 'recently added tracks' playlists to double check year/genre/other stuff type info. I've spent last night and this morning making some different playlists through MM. Granted they're only genre based; I'm excited to really make some crazy diverse autoplaylists as I get to know MM more!
Great piece of software here...... |
