Hey everyone, just signed up here. Frequent Head-fier and I can't figure out for the life of me which Cowon is right for me.
So here's my dilemma: I got rid of all my desktop audio gear because I am moving so I am building a nice portable rig. So far it's the iBasso DB2 to iBasso PB2. I'm trying to figure out which Cowon I should get and whether or not I use a 3.5 to 3.5 from the Cowon to the DB2 (which is a portable DAC) or do I just run a 3.5 to 3.5 to the PB2 (which is the amp). I'm assuming I would get the best results from running a Cowon -> DB2 -> PB2? What is regarded as Cowons flagship or best sounding DAP? Thanks for any feedback! ![]() |

I'll also be using anything from high end IEM's to Audeze LCD-2's/HE-6's.

Depends on the form factor. They essentially all sound the same.
![]() If you like small then the C2 is a good choice. If you like a curved form factor and don't need a MicroSD slot then the iAudio 10 is a solid choice. If you prefer Android and want to play games and download apps from the Google Play store then the Z2 is your choice. The J3 which is my all time favorite has been discontinued and unless you are willing to pay a ransom for it the Z2 is the best choice right now. It has it's share of critics but I love it. Everyone is waiting for the J3 successor but it's all rumors right now and there's no telling when Cowon will officially announce it. EDIT: I forgot to mention the Cowon X9 was recently released.
