Dear all,
I recently got a Macbook and I thought I ejected the J3 properly. Clearly not. So now it's sort of bricked. It is working fine with the SD-card. I can play music that's on the SD-card, but I can't see any files on the internal memory. The problem is, I'm on vacation right now and don't have access to a PC. I do have an Android tablet with USB-port. I was able to connect my J3 to the tablet and made a back-up of my music on the internal memory. I would like to restore my J3, but I don't know how. To be clear, I DO have acces to my J3 via my tablet. Can I reformat my J3? I guess there's an app for that. And how does that work with firmware? Is firmware stored on a protected part of the memory? Or do I have to install new firmware myself? Please explain. I tried to find information about this on the forums, but could not find any information about this specific problem (SD working fine, no access to windows PC). Please help me. Thanks in advance!

You can format the player safely, the firmware is stored in a hidden partition and cannot be accessed.
When you switch the player on after having formatted it, the firmware will regenerate the default folder structure automatically and then you can copy your music back.
