Default USB cable

Hi all,

Since a couple of days, when i connect my j3 to my pc, it only starts charging the battery and the player is not recognized by windows so I can;t transfer data (I also tried it on 2 laptops). So i think (hope) the the data cable is broken and this problem will be easily fixed by getting a new cable.

Only question remains, what kind of usb cable should i get? I cant find anything like the original cowon cable (which looks a mini hdmi). Many forums state it's micro-B USB, but it's not. Any idea what cable i should get. I live in the Netherlands so it would be expensive to get one from cowon.

Furthermore, if you have another solution to this problem (the problem might also be something different than the cable) let me know!

Thanks
Spark

First of all thanks for the reactions! I ordered a new cable - an original cable from cowon - but unfortunantly the problem still exists. So, i pretty much ruled out it's due to the cable... Maybe it's due to windows or something, I just hope it's not a broken plug of the j3...

Any further suggestions?

has the j3 always had this problem?
is the cable fully inserted into the j3 socket?
you should hear/feel a click and then be able to pick the j3 up by the usb lead.
the cowon plug needs a lot of force to connect properly.

You can also make sure you have MSC USB Mode. If that doesn't work just try MSc and MTP on at least two computers with different windows's. If that is not working then follow what WAI said .
