As an Android pocket device, I am obviously happier with the Z2 than with the D3.
But I am a bit disappointed about audio capabilities, it does slightly worse than the older Plenue (notably Eqing on external app).
I consider getting a pocket amp to get higher output yields on big cans.

I've now had my Z2 for 2 days, I'm quite happy with it. Sound quality is excellent but i'm getting lower volume levels in Poweramp.
It pretty weak as an android device but thats not so important for me, i have an android phone anyway.
In the stock player there is a folder called RECYCLER, whats that all about? I cant find it in the file manager.

For Poweramp volume problems, you have to have the z2's default music app running in the background at least. Once that has happened, change the jeteffect setting to Headphone or Rock in the z2's audio settings menu. If all else, pop the DVC option to on in Poweramp and experience what I would call an unbelievable sound boost unlike any other music app. Switch to volume 1 on the z2s device, it's all you'll ever need from now on for volume settings.

i don't like the battery life... as it is android, when you switch off, it just sleeping and drainning battery. you have to power it off completely

I can't complain for an Android device. So far i'm happy with the Z2's battery life. I'm getting the advertised 22-25 hrs audio and about 8-9 hours video. Not too bad. Of course it could be better but like you said it's Android.

Does anyone know how the Z2 sounds in comparison to an Ipod touch or a Galaxy 5.0 player? I'm currently using a touch for music with flac player installed and using flac's exclusively. Just curious if playing flacs on the Z2 or Galaxy will sound noticibly better then how I am currently doing it.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I haven't tried playing Flac files yet but i can say that mp3 and mp4 files sure sound alot better than the iPod touch.

Cowon devices audio quality and sound enhancements blow anything Apple related out the water for at least lossy files, the z2 is their best yet - as the jeteffect sound enhancements bleed into every app (good thing) . With this out the way, Flac is probably the best you can go with audio and mostly boils downloading to what you want in a device.

The z2 is a well rounded device if you want something that specialize with audio. If you are able to look past the faults of the z2 (more battery life and a few other things), I can sell you my z2 for $150 w/ free priority shipping in the states only to help alleviate the costs since I have the 32 gb model, buying it from anyone else like Amazon or jetaudio would cost $300. It's only a month or two old...
