Default Buy or not buy Z2

A couple questions,

I have been looking around for a while for something to replace my IPod touch. I will be using this device primarily as a music device and will primarily be using flac files. I manage my music outside of Itunes as I started with creative players a long time ago and just continued that process when I got my ipod classic and touch, and iphone. I rip my music outside of itunes, tag music outside of itunes, and manage music outside of itunes. I only use itunes in order to load music to my devices.

All of my music is housed in folders categorized by Artist and then album folders within the artist folders. I would very much like to have a device with a good amount of space with a memory card slot so I can switch cards and add more memory as needed. Audio quality is important to me.

I have been doing research recently and was close to pulling the trigger on a Cowon Z2 but came across this site and found out the problems and am hesitating. I have also investigated the Galaxy 5.0 but I am not crazy about the 8 gigs of native memory. A 32 gig Z2 with a 64 gig card is much more appealing especially when loading flac files to the device.

I am not opposed to using the android market to get apps to fix issues, but have never had an android device so installing apk's would be new to me.

Any suggestions on a device that fits the above would be great.

Thanks

I'm still new to using the Z2 (had it less than a week).
Its the best sounding player I've used.

Once you install the play store APK which is easy to do, you then have easy access to other android apps.

I've found the Z2 to not be the most powerful Android device but I think its good enough. Besides playing music and the odd video all I'd use it for is a bit of web browsing and email and its good for that no worries.

I've read other posts here that say the built in player cant read a 64gb card but other music apps you can download like Poweramp can.

Your music folders can be diplayed the same way you described within the music apps. Artist > Album > Track

Agreed, despite my most recent posts (I'm a nitpicky guy), the z2 is the best sounding android device your money will buy. This community is very helpful if you have any issues as well and like you mentioned, there are some apps on the Google play store that fixes a lot of the issues the z2 has. Knowing Cowon, eventually they will pop out a firmware that fixes a problem you might be having, they have already made alt of people happy with addressing some problems already in the beginning of the z2's life. If you want, I'll sell you mine for $150 with free priority shipping if you are in the US- Amazon and jetaudio would sell you the 32 gb model (which I have) for $300+.

Would you please tell me/us about the battery difference between J3 and Z2?
I am going crazy because I can't find the J3, because only Z2 is available :/

Well the J3 does simply keep on going through moveis and music. So for long journeys or flights..nothing compares. YOu could send the shuttle on its way with this battery power. The Z2 is much more battery mainstream..hey if you look hard enough you might find a cowon j3....
