Default X7 or Z2?

Hi there, newbie here. I'm choosing between the X7 and Z2, which one would you guys recommend? I still don't have HP but at the end of the month I'l be having Grado RS1i (gift). I'm really just starting, thanks.

easy...

Z2 if you want Android and wanting to browse the web and play movies/games

X7 if you have a BIG Library of Music

the Z2 can't beat the X7s battery Life which is 103hrs of Audio playback. the Z2 only has 17hrs or so cause it has Android and the Hardware in it kills the battery Life.

so to sum it down e easier...

Z2
+Android
+Sound Quality but still doesn't beat S9/J3/X7
-Battery life
-outdated Hardware CPU and GPU

X7
+Battery Life even though it's a HDD based DAP
+Sound Quality

personally i'd choose the X7 any day of the week cause the Z2 just isn't a good enough DAP/Android Device

I've had an X5, a D2, a S9 a J3 and a D3
The first I gave my brother
The second I smashed while running
The third I don't use anymore (cause of the J3) - backup
The fourth is the one
The last is well... being rested.

Listen, for me the case was about portability / capacity and battery life.

The S9 was everything except for capacity and the D3 being Android based had limitation around battery life. I now have a J3 with a 64GB microSD card and I could not be happier. It's small and light enough that I can take it everywhere, I have 90GB+ of music on it (I basically never "load" it) and I only charge it when I think about it...

Compared to that the X7 would be bulkier and not sure about battery life...

Oh, and of course, being Cowon, there's no compromise about sound quality!

X7 dies too fast! Good sound and durable, but you can not rely on it too long it seems.... =_=

I have both X7 and Z2.
X7 was great because of battery life and memory (120gb in my case) but it fell off a hospital bed and the screen broke. Its usable but only just and cannot watch video.
cant get the screen fixed in the UK as no support here so I will wait until I go to Korea next.
So with the insurance money I was going to buy another X7 but the new Z2 caught my eye and as I could add a 32GB card i went for this.
Battery life is not the greatest but gets me all the way on a flight UK to China so that's all I need. Android makes it useful for other things and adds a new dimension to "just an MP3 player with video". Discovered that 64gb cards work also so nearly enough capacity but not quite.
I liked them both but now Z2 is my preferred i just would like 120gb Z2 then I would be over the moon.

yes i thought you did when you said for the X9 "With a 64gb SD card you can have up to 96gb memory. If it's an SDXC slot, you can even use 128+gb cards.

But I agree, Cowon should at least sell a 64gb version, too."
Surely this means the same for all the devices or am I mistaken.

No. On the J3 and X7, Cowon used an SDHC slot which means the player only supports cards up to 32gb. Thanks to the way some 64gb SDXC cards are produced, they work on the J3 and X7 even though they'd actually require an SDXC slot. However, 128gb cards definitely won't work with SDHC slots.
