Default Cowon X7 vs. mp3-tags

Hi fellow Cowoners!

I have a problem with some album art showing up while some don't on the X7 - although it shows fine in iTunes, my HTC phone and Mp3Tag. All my 90 gigs have been processed/tagged via iTunes either automatically or manually (when iTunes couldn't find the album art).

I can't say this with a 100% certainty:

1. Probably half of the covers is some that iTunes was able to find and so the files were tagged automatically - given this ID-version "ID3v2.3 (ID3v1 ID3v2.3)".

2. Then there were all the files which iTunes could find tracknames for BUT NO album art. Here I manually dragged the album art (from Firefox) into iTunes and tagged the files - and it seems they were tagged with this ID-version "ID3v2.2 (ID3v2.2)", but I'm not sure as it doesn't seem to be a logical move for iTunes to do. It also seems like that it's the album art in these files which my X7 don't show.

When I view my files in Mp3Tag I can see that the album art that do show on the X7 are set to "Front Cover". The album art that don't show is set to "Other".

Changing this setting unfortunately didn't do anything. Instead I was able to "remove" some album art that DID show: in Mp3Tag I chose all the files in one library (where the album art did show on the X7) and just pressed save - I didn't delete the cover art. The TAG-ID-version changed from "ID3v2.2 (ID3v2.2)" to "ID3v2.3 (ID3v1 ID3v2.3)"...which I had hoped would do the trick...but now this cover don't show anymore (although it's still embedded in the file!).

Anybody know if there's a correct/optimal format for mp3-tags on the X7?
Maybe a max (file)size on the album art?

I use KIZUNE's Lynx, Leaf and Sense UI's.

ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE HELPFULL!

Cheers!

Sorry I can't help - not had any troubles with tags. Until this last week! For some reason, 1 track of mine won't show up ANYWHERE except if I go into the [folders] option. Same with an album I loaded yesterday - it won't show up in Artists, Albums or Genres. Only Folders.
I tried stripping the tags and reloading but that hasn't helped. Nuts!

Hi Flip.

As I have some compilation albums I only use the browser from Kizune. I'd rather look at my "windows library" in which all comps are placed in a library called "Compilations" (iTunes did that...). It annoys me that these hundreds of different artists are sprayed out with a song or two when i browse via "Artist". The list of 800+ artist get too long for my taste :-) So I don't have you problem ... yet.

In regard to my initial question it has been solved, look here:

Hmmm...thanks I'll try stripping out the image in the files and retagging everything (they came with the album art in them). Thanks for that.
