Default streaming

Hi,

i want to stream music and videos to my z2.

Like this: Laptop (place where media is) -> Z2 (place where media should be played)-> TV/Amp

I tried it via "Mediashare". There I chose "My device renders content from server".
But with that option I can't control my z2 via my Laptop, only vice versa. That means I can choose and play Music from my Laptop on my z2.

I have tried this from another thread:

Of course on your computer streaming must be enabled. In order to do this, open the Network and Sharing center, open "Advanced Sharing Settings", open the category "Home or Work" and then look for the entry "Media Streaming". There, you can enable streaming. Windows Media Player must be running if you want to stream media from your Z2 to your computer or vice versa.
but... all settings are set, but i wont help with my problem.

I use Win7 with MediaMonkey.

Can anybody help me? Would be great.

bye

Hello,

I have a NAS and a Squeezebox Touch. Therefore I have the Logitech Media Server installed at the NAS.
My Cowon C2 has the market Hack. So I was able to install the Programs Squeeze Commander And Squeeze Player. I can stream my music from the NAS to my Z2. Maybe it would work with Videos, too. I don't know it, because I haven't tried it.

Ciao Antonios

Shouldn't Rhapsody work? What about a virtual desktop app like Splashtop? Never tried myself as I don't have a laptop (or Desktop), only my wife does and she clings to it like she's going to die. Only have a Tablet (Asus Transformer Prime) and mini tablet/mp3 player (Cowon z2). You will have to try yourself and report back please.

I kinda hesitate paying nearly 5$ for an app, thats obviously for other streaming hardware.
If anybody can tell me that this works without a squeezbox I buy em in no time!
Thx anyways!

Raphsody seems to be something like spotify.
Splashtop might be great but aims in the '"wrong" direction:

"
* One-click access to your computer desktop with minimal setup

* Application automatically finds your local computers, or sign in to your Gmail account on the app and Streamer to find your computers across the Internet

"

Shouldn't that work without 3rd party apps? Isn't "Mediashare" exactly what I need?

Thing is also, that I didn't come in touch with streaming until I got my z2. I find this subject quiet difficult.
Whos Server, who Client?
If my Laptop is the server and the z2 the client, why can't I start playback on the server?
Is it the other way around? No, because the media is stored on the Laptop so the z2 can't "serve"... or is my thinking wrong?

Bye
