Default Speaker Always On

I have just received my new 32gb Z2 and have loaded my music but even when inserting the headphone jack, the speaker stays on and no sound comes through the headphones. I have tried the supplied headphones and 2 other sets but with the same problem. I am not sure if I am just being an idiot and missing a setting or if the machine itself is faulty.

Any ideas?

Is it plug in all the way? It's faulty if it is. There's no setting for the speakers. If should be off if the player detects the headphones. Another thing you can do is update the firmware. If that doesn't work send it back. I hope mine doesn't come like that.

Same here, I get my Cowon J3 in Two weeks, it better not have the same problem.

I updated the firmware as soon as I received the player and I've pushed the headphones in as far as they go. Looks like it might have to go back.

@da1writer, snakebite2: Don't worry, that's the first time I hear of such a problem. For all other users (such as: me, Izzi going, Frank_T, andylock, fpaiy2006,...) it works fine.
