Help please

Downloaded the files, copied them, entered my google account, and after a minute or two it gives an error:
Can’t establish a reliable data connection to the server.

already tried updating to the latest firmware(4.33) and Factory Data Reset but nothing helped

Hi CarTMan, I'm having the same problem using a D3 with firmware 4.55.
Did you ever solve this?

Regards

I had the same problem with my new Z2.

The "reliable data connection" just means part of the sync "framework isn't working right.

What I did was:

Download the file from above;
Unzip;
Get it on you phone;
Install (click on) GoogleServicesFramework;
Install (click on) MarketUpdater;
Reboot Device;
Install (click on) Vending-GooglePlay;
Reboot Device;
Open Google Play and Add your account

Make sure your account has been added
Make sure sync is active

If you have a problem Reboot and try again. Some of this may be unnecessary but that is what I ended up going through to get it to work and it works flawlessly now,

Good Luck!

Hey, guys the google play apk for the Z2 and the D3 can also be found on the anythingbutipod.com forums:
Z2: http://anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69250
D3: http://anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69228
These might be different, and could work better for those who are having issues installing the app!

Hi,

I've done this several times, but it never worked.

Then I did a "Factory reset", reinstalled, and now it works.

Thank you.

You need to change something in settings to get it to connect I think it was;

applications->settings->accounts

allow both background data and auto sync - then create your account.
