Internet Phone Call/VOIP

Hi, I just ordered my Z2, and according to cowon.com theres a VOIP app that allows free international calling?

Does this mean that I can call my friend in the U.K. at any time, for free or are my hopes up WAY too high? Has anyone tried this app out yet?

There's a VOIP app, but you need your own VOIP provider to use it.

Skype loads and find everyone one my contact list, I have it installed but I have not called anyone yet.

Does skype have options for encryption? I ask, b/c if using this as a mobile phone on wifi hotspots... Someone could be using a packet sniffer and eavesdropping on calls made.

I just tested skype on the Z2. The audio quality is great. You can leave the Z2 plug in and the wi-fi on - it'll a could be a VOip-phone. The battery drain isn't bad if you leave it unplug. It ate 15%, but then my mail app was updating and vibrating through out the 8hrs. I'll report back to see how much it took without all that.

snakebite, i was wondering if you can also test kakaotalk preinstalled in the z2. i tried using skype but i was unable to make calls from it. same with kakaotalk.

any help would be appreciated.

Why can't you make calls with skype? I haven't try making calls with it but I can receive calls. I'll try the kakaotalk when I have time.

there is many voip service providers.. altaworx,vonage are good voip service providers... you can make your voip account there....
