Default Replacing a broken J3 - best option?

My J3 appears to be on its way out after 2 solid years of service. I have no complaints about it at all, except maybe storage capacity.

I feel strange though to throw down another USD 260 to buy the same thing I just had. I know that's irrational given how much I liked the J3.

Is there another device on the market or going to be available soon that is/will be better than the J3?

as much as we all love the j3, i think cowon said they were creating its sucessor in a few months. (J3 is now discontinued) so either wait for that (knowing cowon that could be awhile) or just buy a new j3. really its up too you.

Did you get a microsd to expand memory? What is it doing, that says it's on it's way out to you?

I really hope cowon not bring in android for J3 successor, the complex android system will bring in interference and uncertainty to the system. Also will make the battery time shorter. Really like current simple and pure MP3 player system.

As of right now, no. The J3 is probably the best for music purposes, if you want you can also look into the newly released Z2, if you have the money of course .

But if i was in your position i would get another J3 since it is a very good player. And yes, a successor is coming out but it is coming out in October or November in Korea and February to the rest of the world.

I know this information from here http://iaudiophile.net/forums/showpo...62&postcount=4

He also said that he has been told by Cowon that they are going to release a replacement model for the J3 in October (he said, knowing Cowon, expect it next February in Australia.) Cowon has told him that the reason for the gap between discontinuing the J3 and announcing its replacement was because, when they released the J3, Cowon was left with large numbers of the S9 in its warehouse, which are still sitting there unsaleable. Apparently they are making sure that this doesn't happen with the J3.
