Default Best way to stream media from LAN to Z2?

Hi,

I have all my media files like movies (avi,mkv,...), music and the like stored on various smb shares.

What is the best way to stream those files to an Cowon Z2 through wlan?

I couldn't find any useful information through google.

Best regards,
S

I use ES File Explorer, https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...51bGwsMSwyLDNd

It works great with players, like Rockplayer or your choices.

The Z2's latest firmware (1.32 Beta) contains an app to stream media from a device to your Z2 or vice versa using DLNA. Works very well for me.
(You should wait for the official release of 1.32, though, because the app still has problems with videos)

Thanks for the info.
And finally I can control my computer using the Z2 - awesome!
(That was a feature that didn't work in the beta firmware)

My Z2 is rooted, Google Market and other Apps are installed.

What will happen when I update the new firmware?? Will anything be lost of my apps and settings??

You'll just have to re-root Z2, that's all.

snakebite2:

Open the app "MediaShare", select the third option ("My device sends content to rendering device"), select your computer and then select the music file, video or picture you want to listen to / watch / view on your computer.
Of course on your computer streaming must be enabled. In order to do this, open the Network and Sharing center, open "Advanced Sharing Settings", open the category "Home or Work" and then look for the entry "Media Streaming". There, you can enable streaming. Windows Media Player must be running if you want to stream media from your Z2 to your computer or vice versa.
