Nah, it broke just a few days after I was past the cutoff for returns. My computer and J3 both stopped recognizing it, and I couldn't even attempt to format or scan it for errors. I wound up just buying a sandisk one.

Format the card using a card reader and a 3rd party fat32 format tool.

Thanks for the swift answer ! Actually already formatted it with a 3rd party, and it did come up as 60gb just short, but once it was in the J3 it demanded to be formatted again, and showing only as a 29gb
Got another, an HP usb drive formatter and it is being fully formatted as I type, but not a quick one, hence will take a while. Not confident.
My D2 also - that sees the 32gb but when I try to put some stuff on, it doesn't show at all. No problem with the 16gb

Don't have the card in the J3 when it is connected to your computer. It will not work. Use a card reader!

Any recommendations on which 3rd party tool to use?

*edit* NM. I found a program that has been claimed to work for this.

http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/ind...?guiformat.htm

That said, the fact that you have to copy files on it with a card reader and then put it in the player seems like a bit of a nuisance, but a livable one.

So I can buy any 32 GB card without having to worry about versions?

Yeah. 32 GB micro SD cards are all SDHC, which is fully supported by all recent Cowon devices with a micro SD slot. (I'm not sure if your signature is up to date or not, but in case you didn't know, the S9 does not have a micro SD slot, so there's no point purchasing a card for the S9). All this discussion is only about a 64 GB micro SD card.

Ah I've come across my first problem with the 64 GB micro SD card.

This has happened several times in the past few days now. In the middle of playing a song, the playback suddenly stops, and my entire library is no longer displayed on the J3 (note that my entire library is on the micro SD card). When browsing by folders, the J3 does not detect my micro SD card. I can fix this problem, but only by reinserting the micro SD card and then refreshing the entire database (no, simply rebuilding the database without reinserting the card does not work). Additionally, when rebuilding the database, it goes through one more long step than it does with a simple power off and power on, as it rescans all the album art.

Thankfully nothing's broken, but nonetheless this is a very annoying problem. Has anyone else experienced this or does someone have any ideas to remedy the dilemma?

Strange.

Three possible ways to fix it:

Check if it always happens on the same song. Then it may be a problem with the encoding or tags/metadata for that song. Try to play it from some other player. Reencode and retag it or remove it.

Reformat the card and see if that helps.

Check the card for errors. Google "check sd card" for details.

Problem being (and I'd be delighted if anyone found a workround) you must take the 64gb card out of the J3 every time you wish to load more stuff, which is a colossal pain. It just demands you format the card if you want to just load while in the J3 presently
