[Things to Note Before Updating Cowon Z2]
Important data before the firmware upgrade is in progress, please back it up.

Also be included in Z2 after removing the MicroSD card, please proceed.

During a firmware upgrade, please help keep the power adapter connection.

Never before the firmware upgrade is complete, Do not power off.
If the power is turned off in the middle of, damage to equipment can come free A / S will not be provided.

When using a beta firmware may cause instability symptoms.
Instability at the onset of symptoms to the most recent official firmware update, please use.

[Instructions to update Cowon Z2 Firmware]
1. Connect Cowon Z2 player to PC using USB cable
2. Click "Turn On Mass Storage" on Cowon Z2 Player
3. Download desired firmware version of "Update.zip"
4. Copy and paste "Update.zip" to the root folder of 'Z2' Drive
5. Use safe removal to eject Cowon Z2 from PC then remove USB cable
6. Click "Turn Off Mass Storage" on Cowon Z2 player
7. Wait for the system to scan for new file
8. Click 'Setting' on Cowon Z2
9. Go to "About Z2"
10. Connect the Cowon Z2 player to a power source(USB or power adapter)
11. Click "system Updates" on Cowon Z2 player
12. Click " Install System Update" on Cowon Z2 player
13. Click "From NAND storage"
14. Click "Install now" and wait for new firmware to be install and reboot.
15. Lastly Enjoy the new firmware.Cheers : )

1.power off
2.play button+power button

3.home button(middle)


just Copy and paste "Update.zip" to the root folder of SD card
and install the "update.zip"

one of changes in next update may be that the stock player app acept playlist like poweramp or playerpro android apps, is the only thing that lacks, well... gapless too

Technically speaking it shouldn't be a problem since recovery mode is available. so if firmware fail, Just go to recovery mode and load the the old firmware.
Perhaps you can let us know the changes.

I updated from the Korean firmware to the North American 3.31 version.

Firmware went from 1.31 (Class A) to 3.31 (Class A)

I noticed a bunch of apps have disappeared such as the Olleh (not sure what its called now).

Everything else works perfectly fine.

I have done quite the same thing with updating the Firmware from 1.31 Korean to 2.31 EU

Don't know the difference between 2.31 and 3.31 but i have noticed too that the apps in korean have disappeared

I think is better USA firmware because in european firmware the sound is restricted to European standards, otherwise the sound may be lower, although I don´t know if that happens in this case
I installed the USA version without any problem, is 30 MB lighter and all applications are in Spanish or English, except the keyboard that also has Korean letters, the FM radio works perfectly
