The title sort of says it all. Is this $29 US. version more or less a computer version of what may be on your S9/J3 as far as music playback goes. I am toying with the idea of putting this on say a netbook and using a transparent usb DAC and headphone amp, and getting in effect a transportable version of a 300+gig S9 or J3.

I toyed around with a similar idea... And then I thought about battery life.

JetAudio software is good for audio & video conversions, but for actual music management and listening MediaMonkey, J.River, Foobar2000, etc, are better. It's like the Windows 98 of media management software. Don't let that "plusvx" addon fool you.

Thanks for the info everyone.Battery life doesn't worry me as I'm more into transportable music than portable.
What I was hoping for was the equivalent of what is on my s9 to be on a computer, eqs bbe, etc. I have ordered one of nwavguy's dac.s to go with his amp and hope to plug into a netbook for audio nivarna. ![]() |

It does do BBE, and all the Cowon sound enhancements. If you can deal with the UI then go for it.

I think the EQ is more customizable than on the Cowon players. See the attached photos. Look at all those bands. There's a user customizable setting. You can save and load EQ settings to/from a file.
The UI is very difficult to use, as others pointed out. But it's a great and simple video and audio converter (the paid version gives more converting options. Awesome!).
