searching my music by tags?

Hi, I once had a Cowon A2 - it was awesome now I'm thinking of a a new music player - I'd love some guidance...
1) I want to copy my iTunes library to it - it's around 120gb - is the X7 the best machine?
2) equally important, I want to be able to filter my music by tags. All my MP3s have all the fields filled in: for instance, I might want to play all my 1975 music which is either rock OR pop
or all my music which is electronic OR rock...
I was thinking I'd need a device that I could copy MediaMonkey or another sophisticated search program to but now I see that the X7 can also search by tags - can someone tell me how advanced this search is? can it search by various and/or criteria?
