i ran across that thing some time ago, deep scepticism arose.

it seems to offer the same effect as bbe mp, -the normalisation.

interesting to see that you approve it.

I thought it would suck myself, but it's just the opposite. The thing is amazing, and (IMO) is better than BBE. Here's dfkt's review of the V1 model (and the reason I bought the thing): http://anythingbutipod.com/2011/06/d...woofer-review/

There's a V2 model, and it works with a dedicated LOD as well. I was hoping for separate volume controls, but no such luck. Still, this ended up being something I totally didn't expect. It's amazing!!!

I have the FiiO E7, and I luv it. Ever since my Digizoid ZO was damaged I'd been using another amp. I decided to get this one, and it's great. Mind you, mine is a rebranded model (Pyle on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i00_details ) but it's exactly the sama device. I paid around $60 USD delivered.

So you like the E7 over the E11? The E11 has gotten better reviews.

i was looking at the C421, but both are meant to be very good.

you can choose which parts you want (opamp) depending on if you want a warm or neutral sound\more power etc.

battery life is not the greatest on the c4 (i think it was 11 hours and 1200mah).

but if you dont mind a chunkier device and doing some diy it's moddable up to about 5000mah
which is roughly 45 hours playback (good match for the j3) and the battery size still within reason, you could go bigger or smaller.

Thanks Enzyme, i'm no longer a DIY, my old eyes bug out on small electronics.

I like an increase in volume with clarity so I can crank it up if I need to. I like accurate neutral sound and I let the Cowon EQ do it's thing. I'm also looking for added punch in the low range. I just bought a pair of Senn CX-300 II from Newegg. I have high hopes for those in ear headphones.

From what i've read the FiiO E11 packs a punch and can be had for the cheap. Whereas the C421 is in the $200 range.
