Default Change between files (mp3 and video) takes quite a bit

Well, this is a first.
For the first time I loaded on the D2 (D2+ firmware) some mp3 that were probably bad tagged (I was in a hurry and I decided to load these files without checking them first..heh, I should have known better). Well, as a result I had a database corruption, every album/audio file was showing with the same name.

Well, I removed these files, re-installed the 3.14 firmware and all seamed to be ok...at least on the internal memory.
Now on my 32GB SDHC card whenever I load, skip an audio track or video file the process takes quite a bit (5 or more seconds) which is absurd since I never had this problem before.

Naturally I formated (and re-formated) the SD card with the Panasonic utility with no avail (FULL FORMAT). I even tried different cluster size (32k 16k and 8k) but it was worthless.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

P.S. The files on the internal memory are loaded instantly as they supposed to.

No one?
I tried to make a check of all the SD card to see if I had some damaged "sectors" but the card is 100% fine.

I really don't know what to do now.

P.S. Previously I had a double boot (Official FW and RockBox)...but afterwards I installed the Official FW... I should now have the Official FW with no Rockbox.

I do have a D2 and would like to help but unfortunately have not had this problem.
Does updating the db in the System menu help?

Hi.
Thanks for your reply.

If by updating the db in System menu you mean change the language in order to force a db rebuild, unfortunately that doesn't help. :/
I also tried loading only videos (just to take the bad mp3 tagging out of the equation), but that also doesn't help.

It's really strange.

Thanks anyways and have a great weekend.

Finally I managed to fix the problem.
For the sake of knowledge and to maybe help someone else that finds himself in the same situation here is what I did, I just followed what dfkt posted:

  • Format the internal memory with the Panasonic formatter, fast mode. (Same goes for any SD card you have - again, back up your files first.)
  • Install 2.57 or 3.57, whatever you prefer. (New: 2.59 or 3.59)
  • Reset your new firmware to defaults and clear memory - again.
  • Reload your files.

There's maybe some redundant and superfluous steps in there - but better safe than sorry. This procedure revived every flaky D2 I ever laid my hands on.

I don’t know why following exactly his steps fixed my problem (since what I did was basically the same, with the exception of resetting D2 settings to default (since I thought that reinstalling the FW would take care of that) and formatting the internal memory with the Panasonic utility (since I thought that clearing the internal memory within Cowon’s FW option would basically do that)), but it is what it is and I’m glad everything works fine now.
Thanks and credit goes to dfkt.
