Cursing d2+ BIG data bank annoyance...

the laptop that fills up my d2+ runs with myc os 10.4.11. my player runs with fw 2.13. there are known issues with os x, i know. i have a tool that removes all .trashes and .ds-store files the d2+ dislikes. in 70% of the cases no problem - putting new music on the player, running "cleanup smbmess", and everything's fine.

the rest is a growing pain in the neck. last attempts led to the following results:

- after several attempts where everything was fine the "data bank bug" struck my player again. the data bank got it's big headache and forgot all names of all files and folders. so - again, hurray, - i had to delete everything and fill up my player with all the music. not a trivial task if that is about 20gb.

- first everything fine. BUT: when browsing to the files and folders, the data bank headache came back again. when browsing the folder "falco" (austrian artist), all of a sudden all files in that folder were named "falco". when browsing back, suddenly all folders were named "falco". even the root folders, the "d2" and my sd-card, simply everything.

- ok, shit happens sometimes (i thought). deleted everything, put again all music on the player, checked, everything fine. then - same thing again. when browsing through the folders, this time the data bank got stuck with "deep purple". so ALL files and folders were suddenly named "deep purple". when browsing on in my despair, eventually even those name dissapeared, leaving ALL file and folder names blank. since i was on my way to work, there was nothing i could do about it (ok, the radio was still ok). next morning, on my way home i switched on the player and continued listening to "deep purple in rock" (the playback was not affected by this bug). after some songs i had a look on the player - TADAAA! - all names of the files and folders were back again, except the first three songs of "deep purple in rock" - they were all named "speed king".

- to avoid further eddies, i decided to delete everything again, filled up the player (and sd card) again - same game.

is there a known solution to this problem? i tried the tool(s) suggested here:

http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=44893

but non of the suggestions helped. any suggestions how to solve that issue?
