Default Cowon Europe

Recently the joystick on my X5L malfunctioned. Having read posts on here, I knew it had to be repaired by Cowon. I sent it to Cowon Europe who fixed it for 70€ and in addition replaced the cracked screen without me even asking (a really pleasant and unexpected bonus).

I was delighted by the service and have tried on a number of occasions to e-mail Michele Penta at Cowon Europe to thank them but the e-mails have all been returned as unsent. I have read today that others are having difficulty contacting them by e-mail. Any suggestions?

Cowon Europe only repairs Cowon products under warranty from customers in germany and Austria. Has anyone from another European country managed to get their Cowon repaired free under warranty. It seems the rest of Europe is not included in their warranty plan. I shouldn´t have to pay 90 euros to have mine fixed when it is 2 months old.

I'm from France, and I got my S9 repaired, for free (under warranty)
Additional contact : marcus.boereth@cowon-germany.com

Seriously they're very professional people, I'm impressed how quick they fix the stuff. In my case, it took 1 week after they received it to have it back, delivered at my house, for free.

Finally, don't forget to send your invoice to get the warranty working.

I bought my S9 from an ebay seller and he just emailed me an invoice, which I forwarded to Marcus Boereth, the guy whose e-mail is stated above. So it's not really complicated :-)

You have to send it at your own cost though... (even if it's under warranty)

Also they can repair stuff if it's not under warranty, or if the damage is not covered by warranty, but in this case, well, obviously you have to pay. However they make a cost estimate before doing anything.

Hope this helps !
