Deleting from internal memory

I'm having trouble deleting songs from internal memory. I can delete any song off the SD card while it's playing (press menu, bring up context menu, choose delete).

But when I try to delete a song that's playing from the internal D2, it brings up an error message:

PANIC
flush fat sector could not write sector 12125 error - 1

and a horrible squealing sound emits through the headphones. Is there any workaround to this?
