startup videos

just made a startup video for my X5. If I had known what a pain in the ass it was going to be, I probably wouldn't have.

I realize there are some others on the forum....a family guy and futurama maybe?

anyways, this one is ripped from the red hot chilli peppers video for zephyr song, of the dancing girl. I don't know if anyone wants it, but I made it dammit so here it is.

I couldn't get the program to recognize the avi i have. the avi is already formatted for the x5 so i didn't think it would be an issue. did you ever have this problem?

where do u put the startup vid file for it to replace the current one.

sharin - I had the same problem, it's a convoluted process of format swapping. What I do is put the avi in windows movie maker, and grab the clip I want. then I have to run the clip back through the jetaudio video converter to get it back in avi format so virtualdub can use it. then export the video as an image sequence, then put the image sequence into a gif maker, and FINALLY put the gif in the logomaker thing.

idiotek - iaudio\system there should be a file already in the folder called LOGOMAIN.ILB rename it something like LOGOMAIN.ILB.BAK (so you can always rename it LOGOMAIN.ILB and restore it) then place your clip in there. make sure it is named LOGOMAIN.ILB and is formatted correctly or no startup video will be displayed. it will skip to the main menu.

holy moly....maybe it's not worth it! haha.

as far as a host...i just use my isp (comcast broadband) when i need to store/share files. but if you don't have a isp that allows that, you could try yousendit.com and just link underneath your preview

problem is i dont have filehosting abilities - can anyone volunteer to either e-mail me and get the file to host or convert it for me and host it themselves? Delay in Jet Logo should be 2-3
