A bit of a bold statement here but, it looks like a upgraded o2... uh-oh. If it is hopefully it will make up for some of the shortcomings.
Wifi connectivity is always a plus in my book for any pmp. The "HD" designation always makes me cringe a bit. HD what? output? radio? |

The Zune HD is just a wannabe copy of the iPod Touch anyways... and it takes quite some effort for both to come even close to the S9, sans the Wifi stuff, of course.
Let's hope the V5 is a less crappy O2.Here's a working video, by the way: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24CeciErOII"]YouTube- So Jisub ???? ????? cowon CF 200912 4[/ame]

I would be interested in it if it was just an O2 done properly, with a higher rez amoled gorrilla glass screen and a decent UI.
I was put off the O2 by reports of it's shortcomings but would still be interested in a device like it.

I really would love this unit to be the convergence of a great video and music device. Key features I would like to see:
Touch screen with more than a couple hardware buttons HDMI out (non-proprietary) let me use my own cables please. AMOLED screen Newest jet effects (that also work during video playback) skin-able UI SDHC expansion slot More info and a US release date please! anyone have any others? What you describe there is pretty much a non-sucking O2, indeed.
![]() Here's everything I hate about the O2, what Cowon could improve in a successor: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=37194

Haha, I suppose I have been scorned by my o2. Also good read, I would say a device with all those items would be dream come true.

Very welcome indeed. They should give all of the current o2 users this to make up for the o2!! Ahh, the power of dreams

I laughed out loud at the question marks after "HD" in the video.. I'm sure that wasn't their intention.
I love Cowon, they are often ahead of the curve when it comes to format support, but my guess is based on previous experience they'll barely meet their claims, whatever those may turn out to be. What they should do is just go ahead and knock it out of the park with: - support for1080p h264 in mkv container.. (some affordable Chinese PMPs already utilize chips capable of this) - output of HD video and sound through non proprietary HDMI cable - inclusion of a memory a card slot The last 2 aren't going to happen because they will fuck it all up just to make a small profit on people buying the larger internal memory equipped versions and on proprietary cable sales. To be honest, if it can do 720p in an mkv container without dropping frames, has a nice AMOLED screen, and memory card slot I'll buy it if it's less than $300. That's probably asking too much though.. I'm afraid the age of SDHC slot equipped players is over when companies stand to make such a profit off selling increased internal flash memory storage.
