LAME, Vorbis and Flac

@320 kbps how close is a LAME encoded mp3 to flac
@256 kbps how close is a Vorbis encoded file to flac

I have 10 gigs ripped to flac and I was wondering if I'd loose a lot of quality namely in terms of bass by switching to Vorbis/LAME mp3. I notice a difference in bass from a 192 kbps ogg file to flac and an IMMENSE diffrence with 192 kbps mp3 to flac.
