Good bye....
I've loved the D2 but my ears are rebelling against headphones. I can't listen even at settings too low to reproduce the music well.....besides I want a new turntable.

I used to play my music louder but once you experience an acute hearing loss and are deaf for 12 hours you'll start paying more attention!
 But, hell, volume 31 for in-ear headphones is crazy!  I usually set the volume to 12 because my Sennheisers have a volume control which I never max out. I find the default iAudio earplugs to be comfortable at around 10.  Maybe your firmware handles the volume differently - at least I hope so for your ears!
