Hi,

My O2 is getting more and more buggy and unstable. I would appreciate if anyone else could confirm if this is hardware or firmware related.

i) 50% of the time I turn on my O2, the right channel audio is either dead or weak (lower volume than left channel).

ii) O2 shuts itself off randomly when I listen to music

iii)audio stops randomly when playing an audio file. Sometimes it comes back after a few seconds, but mostly I have to start the file all over again, after first choosing another audiofile - otherwise the original one won't start.

Right now I'm leaning towards returning the O2, because these problems are getting more and more frequent. Do anyone else have these problems, and know what causes them?

Number 2 happens occasionally but I have never experienced 1 or 3. I dunno, maybe for 1 it's a hardware problem rather than a problem from the O2 firmware? And for 3, I don't know anything abt that one, never happened to me.

On number one make sure the sleep timer is off and the system off is on.

Thanks, my sleep timer is off. I downgraded from 1.29 to 1.28, so far I haven't had any problems with bad right channel. Fingers crossed. The alac support has been a bit dodgy, so the problems can be connected with the audio file format I use...

Maybe that was the problem. Were you using the international version of 1.29? The american version of 1.29 has just been released on the cowon america website. 1.28 was skipped probably since it's virtually identical to 1.29. It might be worth it to try out the american version.

Thanks!! That was it. I was using the firmware version linked to on this forum, to an Asian site. When I installed the firmware version from cowonglobal.com, the O2 has worked flawlessly so far!
Puh, that was a big relief.
