Hello. I recently purchased a new iAudio U3 and am loving it...loving it enough that I want to purchase a case for it. Unfortunately, and amazing to me, it seems that while Cowon offers cases for all products, the case for the U3 is no longer being offered by Cowon through their website. I can't find one on ebay or any other source here in the USA.
Does anyone know where one can get a carrying case for the U3 in the US (or abroad)? Or, does anyone have one for sale?? I'm looking for something that does the job while not being too fancy (i.e. I'd like to avoid a fancy leather one if possible.) Thanks!! Michael |

You could always make one haha. That's what I did, but it does take some time. Anyway good luck finding a case for your U3. I couldn't find one being sold online either.

PM me,or email me at nambinhvu@yahoo.com for a quicker response. Ask for my modded firmware version if you want, looks pretty cool haha. Instead of pink and neon green it's black and red. |

Heya Nambinhvu,
Thanks for the reply...yep, I'm thinking of going this route. I found some things online about making mp3 players using duct tape, of all things, and am considering doing something like that. i.e. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-...-a-mp3-player/ or http://krylon.blogspot.com/2005/04/h...d-shuffle.html How did you make your own? I'd like to hear any suggestions on what worked well for you to save me some time. Why iAudio doesn't sell a case for this one model, while has them for ALL others, is beyond me...good product, but this is pretty annoying. Cheers! Michael |

Well what I did was I took a cloth that was for my glasses and covered one side with packaging tape. This allowed the cloth to be cut easier and also so it wouldn't be stretchy, so that the size of the case would morph. After that I wrapped my U3 like a present and taped it together like a present. I then covered the whole thing with black electrical tape. You can leave the top and bottom open, or just the top so you can hook up your headphones. I made a cap for my case and a little tab to cover the usb connector port. To cut the holes for the joystick and the buttons I used a razor blade to cut them out. It takes a long time to make one though. I also cut out a hole for the screen and used a thin flexible plastic to cover the hole where the screen was. I've heard one of those small altoid tins work well as a case, but it's hard to cut and you gotta make sure nothing scratchy sticks out. Here's a link of pictures of the Altoid Case http://www.iaudiophile.net/gallery/t...s.php?album=30 Good luck with a case of your own.

Kegel, I know you're trying to help him, but that's a leather one. XD He said he wanted to avoid those. XD He probably saw that one on the iaudio website lol. Oh well I guess it might help if he wanted one that badly.
