I've about decided on the D2 after flirting with the iAudio 7.
I still have a few questions about the FM recording scheduler. - Can you listen to music files from the media library while recording from FM tuner? (record in the background) - Can you set both an on AND off time for the recording or do you have to manually stop the recording? - Is the speed control listenable at 1.5x for podcasts? - What are the bitrate options for FM recordings? - Is their a noticable lag when using an 8G or 16G SD card? Thanks!! Last edited by vestaviascott; 11-16-2008 at 08:04.. Reason: change title |

From the cowonaudio forums...
1. Menu -> Settings -> Timer -> Time Setup to set the time 2. Menu -> Settings -> Timer -> Wakeup mode -> FM Record 3. Menu -> Settings -> Timer -> Wakeup time -> set the Time, Cycle and Duration. So this answers the question about off time, which would be set with "duration". The only thing I'm in need of now is what are the options for "Cycle"? If "daily, exclude weekends" is an option, I'm set! Can someone confirm? |

The max fm record bitrate is 256k wma, which is quite nice but unfortunately there is
some disapointment in that the D2's fm radio reception ranks very poorly among some other mp3 players with fm radio. It does make very good quality radio recordings when you have a good clear station but for any stations that are less than real strong signal the D2 is a bit more finiky than most & takes a little fiddling with positioning of the player & your headphone cable (which must be attached as antena) to find & keep a position to hold a stable enough signal for good recording. The fm radio so far is my biggest gripe about the D2. It seems such a shame to have the feature of being able to record fm with such decent file quality & then have that feature crippled by a poor radio. |
